The Art of the Plate
The starting point was simple: to create a plate that feels as natural as the food it carries. Inspired by the essence of Italian dining, I looked at the tomato not just as an ingredient, but as a symbol. Through hand-drawn studies and watercolor sketches, I explored its form, color, and softness, translating this into a visual language that feels both playful and refined.
The final design is intentionally minimal. A clean white surface, framed by a subtle red and green line, creates structure without distraction. At the center, a quiet illustration adds personality, while allowing the food to remain the focus.
As an Art Director, the process was about balance. Between graphic clarity and warmth. Between identity and function. The plate becomes part of the experience, not overpowering it, but gently reinforcing it.
